Gaurav Budania was born on 8 September 1995 in Churu, Rajasthan. As of 2025, he is 30 years old. His father, Rampratat Singh Budania, is a senior teacher and his mother, Santosh Devi, is a homemaker. He is married to Anupriya Dhaka, who is a school teacher.
He completed his B.Tech. in Mining Engineering from Banaras Hindu University (BHU). After that, he pursued an M.A. in Sociology from a university in Bikaner. He decided to start his UPSC preparation after postgraduation.
