In a major administrative reshuffle aimed at improving governance and administrative efficiency, the Uttarakhand government transferred several IAS officers on 19th June 2025. The reshuffle affects both senior and mid-level officers across the state.
This reshuffle includes changes in the positions of District Magistrates, Secretaries, Managing Directors, and other senior administrative roles. These new postings are expected to bring fresh momentum to key departments and strengthen public administration in the state.
Below is the list of IAS officers who have been transferred or assigned new responsibilities:
- ASHISH KUMAR CHAUHAN (IAS, 2012) – Transferred from DM Pauri to CEO of UCADA and Director of Sports and Youth Welfare.
- Swati S Bhadauria (IAS, 2012) – Appointed as new DM of Pauri; earlier NHM Mission Director & Additional Secretary to the Governor.
- Navneet Pande (IAS, 2015, SCS) – Transferred from DM Champawat to Additional Secretary, Personnel.
- Saurabh Gaharwar (IAS, 2016) – Moved from DM Rudraprayag to MD of SIDCUL and Director General, Industries.
- Prateek Jain (IAS, 2018) – Posted as new DM of Rudraprayag; earlier MD of SIDCUL & DG, Industries.
- MEHARBAN SINGH BISHT (IAS, 2016, SCS) – From DM Uttarkashi to Additional Secretary, Energy & Cooperation, and Director, UREDA.
- PRASANT KUMAR ARYA (IAS, 2017, SCS) – Appointed as new DM of Uttarkashi; previously Director of Sports & Additional Secretary, Child Development.
- Anand Bardhan (IAS, 1992) – Relieved of the Water Resources Department.
- KURVE SACHIN SHARDCHANDRA (IAS, 2003) – Transferred from Cooperation to Water Resources.
- DR. B V R C. PURUSHOTTAM (IAS, 2004) – Will now also handle Cooperation along with his current post as Secretary, Animal Husbandry.
- Dr. PANKAJ KUMAR PANDEY (IAS, 2005) – No longer holds the Labour portfolio.
- CHANDESH KUMAR YADAV (IAS, 2006) – Shifted from Urban Development; now appointed Commissioner, Food.
- DR. R. RAJESH KUMAR (IAS, 2007) – Loses Irrigation and Minor Irrigation portfolios but continues as Health Secretary.
- DR. NEERAJ KHARWAL (IAS, 2007) – Transferred from Social Welfare to the Language Department.
- Sridhar Babu Addanki (IAS, 2008) – Takes charge of both Social Welfare and Labour departments.
- Yugal Kishore Pant (IAS, 2009, SCS) – Reassigned from Language and Swajal to Irrigation and Minor Irrigation.
- DHEERAJ SINGH GARBYAL (IAS, 2009, SCS) – Moved from Minority Welfare to Secretary, Tourism.
- Manish Kumar (IAS 2018) CDO of Udham Singh Nagar, is the new DM of Champawat.
