Early Life and Education Qualification of Safin Hasan IPS
Safin Hasan was born on 21st June 1995 in Kanodar village, located in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat, near Palanpur. As of 2025, he is 30 years old. Safin hails from a very humble family background. His parents once worked in a diamond polishing unit but lost their jobs. His father, Mustafbhai Hasan, became an electrician, while his mother, Nasibben, worked as a household cook. Together, they also sold boiled eggs and black tea on a roadside lorry to support their son’s education and dreams.
Safin is married to Aman Patel, an MBA graduate.
Education Details in Depth
Safin studied in Gujarati medium in a government school in Kanodar. Despite financial hardships, he consistently excelled in academics. He later earned his B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (E.C.), which laid the foundation for his logical thinking and technical abilities.
UPSC Journey and Current Posting – Safin Hasan IPS
The UPSC journey of Safin Hasan is an inspiring story of courage and perseverance. At the age of 22, in his first attempt, he cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination, securing All India Rank 570. During the UPSC Mains exam, Safin met with a serious accident just before his fourth paper, suffering injuries to his knee, elbow, and head. Despite being in pain, he did not withdraw—he took painkillers and went on to complete his exam. Afterward, he went straight to the hospital for treatment. His grit earned him a total of 1002 marks (798 in written, 204 in interview).
Before joining the IPS, Safin had secured 34th rank in the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) exam and was selected as District Registrar. However, his dream was always to become an IPS officer, and he never gave up on that goal.
Currently, Safin serves as the DCP, Traffic (East), Ahmedabad City, and has previously served as the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Jamnagar district. His retirement is due on 30 June 2055.
