Early Life and Education Qualification of IAS Namgyal Angmo
Namgyal Angmo was born on 20th June 1992 in Nimoo village, located in the breathtaking region of Leh, Ladakh. As of 2025, she is 33 years old. While details about her family and marital status have not been made public, her early life was rooted deeply in Ladakhi values and educational aspirations.
Education Journey
Namgyal began her schooling at Moravian Mission School, followed by Lamdon School till the 10th standard. Her academic excellence earned her scholarships to attend the United World College in Pune, which opened international avenues for her.
She went on to pursue her undergraduate studies at Colorado College in the United States, majoring in Mathematical Economics. After her return to India, she secured admission at the Delhi School of Economics where she completed her Master’s in Economics. Before entering civil services, Namgyal worked for two years as a Business Analyst at Citigroup India, Bengaluru. However, her deep-seated desire to serve the country made her leave the corporate sector in 2018 to focus entirely on the UPSC Civil Services Exam.
